Braveheart, aka Bob's Braveheart, is a very handsome, 2½-year-old male who was born on November 11, 2005. His sire is Dodgem By Design, making his grand sire the late famous Gable Dodge, and his dam is Bob's Tag. Braveheart is one of the Greyhounds that needs placement with the closing of the track in Corpus Christi. His racing career consisted of 10 races all at Corpus Christi. He is happy boy that wags his tail when you greet him. Braveheart is a striking black male with a blaze of white on his chest, and a brushing of white on the tips of his toes. We think that "Braveheart" describes him to a "T"! Braveheart cannot be trusted with cats - way too much interest and energy. We'll try him with small dogs later.
Braveheart is a striking black male that is very affectionate. He likes to lay somewhere close to me, and if my dogs are in the way he'll make sure that I'm in sight. He is house trained to a dog door but will also stay in his crate if I leave the house for any length of time. He especially likes it if I leave him with a bone or something on which to chew. When I return, he has to make sure that he checks out the other crates in case someone left something behind for him. I have on occasion left him out while I was gone and he was not destructive.
Braveheart is fairly calm and quiet most of the time. However, I’m not on a schedule, so if he thinks it's time to be fed, he'll bark at me, as if to say, "HEY! Over here!! I'M HUNGRY!" If I then call him over, he'll LEAN in for scratches and not another word will be heard (unless I stop before he thinks I should). He loves to be brushed and just adores any kind of hands-on attention.
Braveheart lives with female Greyhounds and other male dogs and gets along well with them all. He likes a dog bed or comforter on the floor for sleeping and does not generally wander at night. He's really just a baby, only 2-1/2, but is so very well behaved! He's a lovely, lovely dog.Braveheart's Foster Mom
