Spiffy, aka Whirl, is a 2½-year-old black female born on December 9, 2008. Her sire is the Irish bred Maryville Rumble and her dam is Cabriole. Spiffy has 15 races to her credit on Greyhound-data.com, starting on November 27, 2010 at Gulf Greyhound Park and ending when she broke her leg during a race on March 29, 2011 at the Palm Beach track. Suregery was performed by Dr. Robert Barstad of the Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center. Spiffy's right front ulna/radius was stabilized with a 3.5 board plate with 8 screws. Her 8 weeks of bandage changes went well, and Dr. Barstad is pleased with the outcome. X-rays now show that the leg is healed, and Spiffy is ready to find that special family to call her own!
