Toss Us A Lifeline!

Due to extremely high medical expenses of treating an extraordinary number of very ill dogs over the past six months, GALT’s operating and medical accounts are nearly depleted.  We have bills to pay and really need your help. In fact, we have at least $14k in bills coming due this month and are currently without sufficient funds to get them all paid. We really have no choice but to ask you for help.  Please give a little, or a lot, today to help us and the hounds get through this crunch.

The pandemic put the brakes on in-person fundraising for quite a while. Then, inflation came along and wiped out everyone’s budget. Today, charitable gifts are down across the nation. We have found ways to keep going (using our savings reserve which is now depleted) and to make ends meet. But, now we have reached a point where we really need more help.  Indeed, we need your support.

We have around 20 hounds in our kennel awaiting foster homes and many more already in foster homes awaiting forever homes. We are committed to making sure these hounds’ needs are met. Will you stand with us, and with them, to make sure we can honor that commitment? Please toss us a lifeline.

Lucy

Lucy, aka Lucy van Pelt, is a black female born February 12, 2016. Her sire is Wheres Pedro and her dam is Bella’s Fancy. Lucy ran 90 races before coming to GALT. She is good with children. She should not live with cats.

Lucy is a very sweet and affectionate girl. She would love to be on the couch curled up right beside you.

Even though Lucy is chronologically a senior, she is very young at heart with plenty of energy to spare. She loves ALL the toys, stuffies, tennis balls and anything else that seems fun to play with and chase. She could easily be an only dog so there is no competition for those toys although she lives in a house with 3 other dogs. She is not aggressive towards them when they play.

She is not a barker so she would work well in an apartment. Her love language is snuggle. Lucy cannot live with cats.
