Omar Visa’s Memorial of Love

November 11, 2009 – August 18, 2022

On August 19, 2022, we said goodbye to our sweet boy, Omar Visa. He was our grumpy old man, letting hyper puppies know who was boss. Though often excited to meet a new dog, he wasn’t always that interested in hanging out for long. Always a bit aloof, he would say his hellos and then move on. But he could never resist free pets from any new people he met on our walks. He was an alpha dog but also protected non-alphas at the dog park on multiple occasions. He was quiet most of the time. The only time we ever heard him bark was when he saw a cat. He loved going on adventures to the woods near our house and was very curious about the coyotes we sometimes saw on our night time walks.

He was stoic, never letting us know he was in pain, always up for a walk or a car ride, even if it was just around the block. His favorite place to be was anywhere we were, always needing to be in the same room with one of us. He was only in our lives for a short time, just five and a half years, but he brought us a lot of joy in that brief time. Hopefully, we gave him a good life in retirement. Our hearts are broken but he will always be there with us. Thank you for your unconditional love, Omar. We will miss you.
