January 14 & 15, 2006
GALT's greyhounds added to the energy at the Arlington Convention Center on Saturday, January 14 and Sunday, January 15, 2006, at the 5th Annual Arlington House and Organic Gardening Show for the second year. And what a success it was (for the show and for GALT). GALT's Greyhounds always draw a crowd!! Rayas, one of GALT's Galgos, found his forever home (with two humans, two cats and two Italian Greyhounds); Nonnie was adopted into her forever home (by a couple who wants to start their life together with a Greyhound); and Moses, who is now healthy, found his forever home (with a wonderful couple who also has a cat). Many others enjoyed lots of pets, and many folks were surprised to learn things about the breed they didn't know. As usual, the Greyhounds were tired after a weekend of parading around the show and getting attention for hours at a time.
As is always the case, GALT could not participate in these types of events without its volunteers and fosters. A special thanks (and hope you had time to do some looking for yourself) for coming to the event goes to: Donna Johnson, Barbara and Sara Bray, Michelle Graham, Cheryl Stone, Joanne Smith, Melody McLaughlin, Stephanie Byrd-Lee, Kathy Heffernan, David Cole, Abbe Collins, Nancy Colwell, Cheryl Boeve, Carol Sahlfeld, Andrea Babiar and Cara Kistler. GALT has already been asked to come to the sixth annual show so we hope to see you again next year!!!!
