GALTX

Oval track greyhound racing goes back to the 1920s in Ireland and they have a long history of breeding the dogs for those races and those in the UK. GALT is happy to have Ned (and his companion Rolo) join us from that heritage. Ned, racing name, Stormy Ned, is a 4 1⁄2 year old black and white male who comes to us from Ireland by way of A Grey’s Home in Belgium. Born in October of 2012, his sire is Premiere Fantasy and his dam is Fintans Gwennie. He has 27 races on record. He had surgery to remove a toe in 2015 but has healed completely and has no lingering issues. Ned is a strong, outgoing and friendly dog and would be best suited in a home with older, responsible children. He is not compatible with smaller dogs or cats but has been around larger dogs with no issues. Ned would do best in a home with previous greyhound/sighthound experience.

UPDATE 3/11/2017

Ned has a positive titer to Ehrlichia Canis, and treatment has started.

UPDATE 4/28/2017

Ned has been successfully treated for Ehrlichia Canis and is now ready to find his forever home!

Watch more of Ned

Ned is a friendly, outgoing boy who enjoys attention from anyone he meets. He knows how to sit, doing it on command and also volunteering a sit when he wants attention or thinks you might have a treat in your pocket. Ned is very food and attention motivated. He walks very well on a leash, rides well in the car and enjoys outings. Ned has done well as an only dog and also gotten along well with another greyhound. No small dogs or cats please (he shows way too much interest in those). He would be ok with responsible older children, but is a little too excited for babies or toddlers. Ned crates well and has no problem sleeping in the crate at night and when we are out.
