Tessa is an 8-year-old brindle female born in June 2007. She was found as a stray in Tulia, south of Amarillo. We are trying to decipher her tattoos. Tessa has a previous fracture to one ankle and will likely always have a slight limp.
Tessa showed a lot of interest in cats during her cat test, and is not considered cat tolerant at this time.
During further medical examination of Tessa, a significant heart murmur was detected. Tessa is undergoing more cardiac evaluation prior to starting her treatment.
After Tessa was seen by Dr. Kelly Nitsche of Animal Diagnostic Clinic for a cardiac evaluation and echocardiogram, she was cleared to go forward with her treatment. Tessa received her first round of heartworm treatment on February 4, and is being kept very quiet in her foster home. Her second round of treatments will be in 30 days.
Tessa received her second round of heartworm treatment on March 10 and March 11. So far she is tolerating the treatment, and she is being kept very quiet in her foster home.
Tessa has tested negative to heartworm! She has completed her medical procedures and is ready to find a nice comfy forever home.
Looking for a laid back, friendly, soft as velvet companion? Look no further! Tessa's the girl for you! Weighing a svelte 67 pounds, this 8 year old dark brindle girl likes a bit of a walk every day to stay in shape. She's very quiet and rarely barks unless there's a squirrel that's invaded her backyard. She gets along with her beagle cousin (actually, she just ignores her). She likes her crate and can frequently be found relaxing in it throughout the day. At night she happily sleeps next to my bed. However, it didn’t take long for her to learn to sleep late on the weekends. She gets excited when kids are around but settles down after a few minutes. Her right front leg turns in a bit from an earlier injury, but it doesn't seem to bother her at all. Potty accidents? No. Counter surfing? No. Trash picking? No. This girl has embraced retirement and acts like a Contessa.Tessa's Foster Family
